Fears and phobias are more common than people realise. In the UK, it is estimated that around 11% of people have some kind of irrational fear.
A phobia is an irrational fear, a fear without good reason. People with phobias experience unwanted responses to animals, insects, objects, places or actions, despite the awareness that they are not dangerous. The responses could leave sufferers 'paralysed by fear' or 'just wanting to run away' from whatever it is that is triggering them. This compels sufferers to avoid the situations that cause them distress. Some of the fears and phobias I help people with include:
Fear of flying
Fear of heights
Fear of spiders and other insects
Fear of public speaking
Fear of the dark
Fear of needles and injections
Fear of dogs
Fear of confined spaces
Fear of crowds or open spaces
Fear and phobias can be relatively easy to treat using hypnosis and NLP. It's not uncommon for a fear to be removed or significantly reduced in just one session, although results vary from person to person, and it may take a little longer.
